Tearing apart the hateful yoke of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranout, the renowned political analyzer and a historian Dr.Ram Puniyani said, “What the actress said about the Indian independence is just a display of narrow mindedness infested with the ‘hindutva ideology.’ It is hard to believe that the actress is having any proper knowledge about the Indian history.”
Dr.Ram Puniyani was reacting to a hate narrative of Kangana who recently stoke a controversy again saying “India got real freedom in 2014 and what it gets in 1947 is mere alms.”
“What is important is that where did she get the drivel from?” he said adding that “Not only Kangana, even one of the author who wrote a book on Savarkar’s life recently try to suggest that the movement led by Gandhi Ji before the independence holds no much wait as was perceived and the reasons that led to achieve independence are completely other way around etc.”
“These people, whether it is Kangana, the author of the book on Savarkar or others who are active on social media platforms with their hate mongering, are actually belonging to a camp having allegiance to a particular form of nationalism that propagate the politics through the eyes of religion. These people are completely dedicated to spreads false narratives through social media platforms to malign the image of Gandhi Ji and Nehru besides spreading false narratives venerating the RSS.
Referring to a claim of one of the BJP’s Rajya Sabha members who even tried to say that RSS played a crucial rule in the freedom movement, Dr.Puniyani said, “When I picked over his claim later, it led me to a conclusion that they (the RSS) never took part into the freedom movement at all.”
In 1942, he said, while Savarkar declared that members of Hindu Maha Sabha will not take part in the freedom movement, and remained loyal to British rulers besides recruited people in British Army, the RSS leader Golwalkar too emulates the Savarkar path as they felt that their routine work should move on as usual without involving in movements against Britishers.
“So these are the people, including RSS infested Kangana, are trying to claim that they have played a role in freedom movement on the first belittling the role of Gandhji, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sardar Patel Moulana Abul Kalam Azad on the other who are the key players stirred the moments against the British colonialism that resulted into independence,” Puniyani Asserted.
