Kashmir Files a ‘Batwara policy’ to fuel unrest in the country: Dr.Puniyani

Recalling that no movie in the past were received such an exceptional state sponsored promotion like the movie ‘Kashmir Files’ is getting under BJP’s rule in India, Dr.Ram Puniyani, a renowned Political Analyst said, “We were have movies in the past on Gandhi Ji and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar without a support or promotion from the government side.”

While reacting over the movie he said, “The movie ‘Kashmir Files’ – which is half baked tale of atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits, has created a flatter in the country and provoking the sentiments against Muslim community simple to create unrest. From Prime Minister to ministers and governments in BJP ruled states, nationalists groups to Hindutva forces all of them are flocking to watch the movie.”

“Cherry on the top is that the movie was made completely tax free in all the BJP ruled states and government employees were encouraged to watch the movie by granting them one day pay leave so to allow them to watch the movie along with family. This is the first ever precedent of such an extensive promotion to a movie by a state though there were several other pictures on leaders such as Gandhi ji, B.R.Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh well received by the audience in the past sans any state sponsored promotion to encourage people to emulate their leaders,” he argued.

“Going by the way some people are venting frustration against Muslims in a fit of rage after watching the movies, I can say that this movie is being used to ferment the already chaotic situation in the country,” he rued.

“They moved a step ahead in spreading hatred by promoting the movie and most intriguing is the response the film is getting from a section of the society. This is nothing but a Batwara policy and a flagrant attack on the unity and integrity of the people of different faiths in the country,” felt Dr.Puniyani.

Arguing that a half baked truth is more dangerous than the whole lie, he said, when the half cooked truth mixed with the fib tale, it proves more lethal and works efficiently to venom the society.

“The whole gamut of emotion behind the film is to engender controversy over mass exodus of the Kashmiri pandits. To be honest, the BJP has no iota of interest in the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits. What they seek from the political promotion of the movie is the political mileage to remain in power,” he argued.
