Kavitha wins 728 votes in the Nizamabad by-poll

Hyderabad: RS former MP,  Kavitha today won local bodies MLC polls in Nizamabad with a thumping majority, while national parties – the Congress and the BJP candidates lost the fray.

As anticipated, Kavitha set a record by getting 728 votes out of 823 in the two rounds of counting while the Congress and the BJP failed to get deposits in the polls.

In the polls, the Congress candidate S Subhash Reddy got only 59 votes and the BJP candidate Y Lakshmi Narayana managed to get only 29 votes and 10 votes were invalid according to information.

She received the official letter of victory in the polls from a turning official along with minister V Prashanth Reddy.

The ruling TRS has clinched this seat on expected lines and Kavitha expressed happiness on the huge victory.

She thanked all those who made efforts for her victory.

Kavitha visited Neela Kantheshwar temple in Nizamabad town and performed special pujas and got blessings from pujaris.

The two national parties – the Congress and the BJP could not get deposits together.

Both of them got just less than 10 percent votes as said by Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy.

In the first round of 600 votes, he TRS won 542, the BJP 39, the Congress got 22 votes.

In the second round of 221 votes, he TRS got 197, BJP 17, nd the Congress 7 votes only.

With this, he people of Nizamabad gave a date to the TRS leadership for welfare.

Local Minister Prashanth Reddy, MPs,  MLAs,  MLCs, nd other local leaders have made joint efforts for the victory of the TRS candidate.

On October 9 polls 823 leaders and ex-office members cast their votes.

While two others cast votes through postal ballot.
