KCR to Pass resolution against CAA in Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad: Profusely thanking people in the entire State for reposing confidence in the TRS government and voting to the ruling party candidates, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today slammed the Opposition Congress and the BJP parties for trying to stall the municipal elections by leveling false allegations against the ruling party of wooing people with money. “It is rare to get such handsome results for the TRS party”, he said.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan here today along with party working president KT Rama Rao and party secretary-general and MP K Keshav Rao, KCR said the TRS has been getting all support from people like in the previous polls. “The Saturday results in the municipal elections are a slap on the Opposition parties. People give us support to go ahead with the welfare and development programs that fetched us huge victory”, he said.

The party supremo also congratulated the winners and thanked all the ministers, legislators and others for sparing no efforts for handsome victory in the polls. “I bless KTR and thank other leaders for collective efforts. Earlier, we won 32 Zilla Parishats and now have won majority in ULBs”, the Chief Minister said.

On the happy occasion, the Chief Minister also clarified that the TRS opposes the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act by 100 percent. He also said the TRS government will soon pass a resolution against the CAA in the Assembly.  “I have not seen this kind of consistent mandate being given to any party in all my political life. The people have whole-heartedly voted for the TRS in Assembly, Parliament, gram panchayat and Zilla parishad elections and now they have ensured that the party rules in at least 115 to 120 of the 129 municipalities and corporations in the State.

Lashing out at the Opposition parties for the frequent criticism and personal allegations against him and the party, KCR said there was no substance in the Opposition claims. He also pointed out that stupendous victory in the municipal elections was despite the fact that neither he nor party working president K T Rama Rao undertook any campaign. “The Opposition has been spewing venom on me and the party, stating that power was misused and money power came into play during the elections. This actually is an insult to the people of Telangana State since the Opposition parties are questioning their integrity,” he said. He said the Opposition should learn to respect people’s mandate, otherwise democracy will lose its meaning and value.
