KCR Urges PM Modi to Set Up 6 New Airports in TS

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked the Centre to set up six new airports in the state. He was in Delhi for three days and had a  meeting with the union ministers on state issues and development funds.

The Chief Minister penned letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to set up the new six airports in Telangana. KCR has encouraged the centre to set up airports to expand better air transport facilities in the youngest state.

The Chief Minister is also seen to have raised the issue of setting up an International Airport in Siddipet his home district as he informed individuals during a public meeting.

For these airports in the state, the government will give land and facilities, the chief minister is learnt to have informed the centre. He referenced these things in the separate letters written to the prime minister and the civil aviation minister.

The proposed locations for new airports are to be set up in areas like – Peddapally in Basanth Nagar, Mamunur in Warangal urban region, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar region in Devarkadra region respectively.

The Chief Minister has already met with the union ministers including Gajendra Singh, Amit Shah, Shekhawat and others.

With Amit Shah, KCR spoke at length on the state issues and looked for disaster relief for flood victims in the state. According to his plan, KCR is to hold discussions with the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and look for funds release for different developmental projects and GST arrears also.

The Chief Minister has looked for an appointment of the prime minister and PMO reportedly yet to finalize the same.

Therefore, he wrote a letter to Modi and Hardeep Singh on the new airports that are required to be set up in the state.
