KGH Vishakhapatnam sent proposals to Govt for approvals to conduct the clinical trials for Covid vaccination

Vishakhapatnam: As a part of the Covid vaccination process, the King George Hospital(KGH) Vishakhapatnam authorities have taken has once again sent proposals to the government for approvals to conduct clinical trials at the hospital.

Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) has previously entrusted the responsibility to experiment Vasudev, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine. Now it has been handed over to Senior Professor and KGH Pediatrics Department Head,   P. Venugopal by BBIL.

Andhra Medical College Principal Sudhakar has recently written a letter in this regard and maintained that Venugopal has experience in conducting several clinical trials in the past. Several other organizations, including BBIL, have come forward to conduct clinical trials on humans at KGH.

Sudhakar said the proposals from the respective companies have been considered and will be sent to the DME office on the 20th of this month for final approval. He said the experiments would be carried out as soon as government approvals will receive.
