Hyderabad: Giving fillip to the irrigation projects, the government today taken a key decision to increase estimate cost of Sitharama Project in Khammam district to additionally irrigate 3.28 lakh acres.
Earlier it was planned to irrigate 6.74 lakh acres. The government now has decided to expand the irrigation as also cost that was enhanced to Rs 13,057.98 cr. The project aims to stabilise as many as 3.45 lakh acres in the district according to information.
A decision to this extent was taken by the government and gave orders of administrative sanction for the first phase of the works. (nss)
