Kisan Congress blames State, Union govts for Urea shortage in State

Hyderabad: All India Kisan Congress Vice President M. Kodanda Reddy and Telangana Kisan Congress chairman Anvesh Reddy on Thursday said the farmers in the State were suffering a  lot due to shortage of urea fertilizer. They alleged that the State and Central governments were playing with the lives of farmers in the State by their “callous” attitude.

They demanded that both the State and Central governments reveal the reasons on their miserable failure to supply urea to the farmers. Stating that the State was in need of 8 lakh metric tons of urea, they alleged that both governments failed to make arrangements to procure adequate quantity of urea on time. They also said the farmers were forced to stand in serpentine queues to procure urea bags. They warned the State government that the crop production of farmers would come down if the urea was not supplied on time. (NSS)
