Telangana’s IT Minister, KT Rama Rao, attended a crucial groundbreaking event for Kitex Group’s second investment project in the state on September 28th. Kitex’s activities in Telangana have expanded significantly with the completion of this project at Seetharampur, Rangareddy district.
Kitex Group, the world’s second-largest maker of newborn clothing, is embarking on a bold project to establish an integrated fiber-to-apparel manufacturing cluster. This cluster would have a staggering manufacturing capacity of 700,000 garments per day and will cost around Rs 1,200 crore to build.
This project is massive in scope. It covers a large area of 250 acres and is intended to provide work for approximately 11,000 people. Notably, more than 80% of these job openings will be filled by women, adding to gender diversity in the workplace.
The timescale for this attempt is very ambitious, with the full investment project set to be completed by December 2024. This demonstrates Kitex Group’s efficiency and perseverance in carrying out its expansion goals.

Kitex’s choice to spend so much in Telangana underlines the state’s attractiveness as a commercial destination as well as its favorable environment for industrial growth. It also demonstrates the state government’s commitment to encouraging economic growth through strategic collaborations with prominent organizations.
This is Kitex Group’s second significant investment in the state. Their previous project, an integrated fiber-to-apparel manufacturing cluster in Warangal’s Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, is currently well advanced and scheduled to begin operations in December 2023. Kitex Group’s investments demonstrate their belief in Telangana’s business environment and their position as a vital contributor to the state’s economic success.
A broad collection of dignitaries attended the groundbreaking event, including government officials from several ministries, a Chevella Member of Parliament, and other significant personalities from the region.
