BRS working president KT Rama Rao appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Formula-E race case. As per the summons issued by the ACB, Rama Rao submitted his version of the case in writing to the officials before leaving the ACB office and heading to the Telangana Bhavan, the party’s headquarters.
Rama Rao, accompanied by his lawyer, complied with the ACB’s direction to appear for questioning. However, he raised concerns about the notice served to him by the ACB. In his statement, he pointed out that the notice did not specify the exact information or documents required from him. “The ACB has not listed out the documents it required or the information pertaining to different aspects in the notice,” he said, questioning the clarity of the summons.
The case against KT Rama Rao was registered on December 18, 2024, and the matter was subsequently challenged in the Telangana High Court. On December 31, after extensive arguments, the High Court reserved its judgment on the case, prohibiting any arrest until the verdict is announced. Despite this, the ACB issued a notice for his questioning on Monday, which Rama Rao chose to honor, stating, “Even as the matter is sub judice, I obliged and appeared for questioning as directed by the ACB.”
