KTR Announces State-Wide Campaign to Expose Congress’s Broken Promises to Telangana Youth

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has called on the party’s student wing to organize a state-wide campaign on January 31, 2025, to mark 420 days since the Congress party’s failure to fulfil its promises to the youth of Telangana. The campaign, which will be held across the state, will involve paying tributes at Gandhi statues, symbolizing the stark contrast between the integrity of Mahatma Gandhi and what KTR described as the “false guarantees” made by Congress leaders.

Speaking at the unveiling of the Telangana Student Wing’s 2025 diaries and calendars at the Telangana Bhavan, KTR criticized the Congress government for its consistent failure to deliver on key promises, particularly regarding jobs for youth in the state.

“Rahul Gandhi promised two lakh government jobs per year. Over 400 days have passed, and not even 12,000 new jobs have been created,” KTR said, mocking Congress’s inability to meet its pledges. He accused the Congress of making “false guarantees” and misleading the public with affidavits and bond papers.

The BRS leader further ridiculed Congress’s approach to governance, stating, “The Congress is promoting counterfeit Gandhis, making false guarantees with affidavits and bond papers, and misleading the public like never before. The youth must expose these lies door-to-door.”

KTR used the occasion to highlight BRS’s achievements under its governance, contrasting them with Congress’s failure. He pointed out that under the BRS government, Gurukuls had increased from 294 to over 1,000, and medical and nursing colleges had been established in every district. Additionally, the BRS government launched innovative programs such as ‘Mana Uru Mana Badi,’ which allocated Rs 7,400 crore to upgrade government schools.

In comparison, KTR criticized the Congress for using routine welfare programs, such as the issuance of ration cards, as tools for political gain. He stated, “We issued over 6.47 lakh new ration cards without branding it as a historic event, while Congress is using such routine programs to cover up its failures.”

KTR also accused the Congress government of neglecting crucial sectors such as education and agriculture. He highlighted the poor conditions of students in Gurukuls and the continued struggles of farmers due to unfulfilled loan waivers.

The January 31 event will see BRS’s student wing mobilize across Telangana to expose what KTR called the “420 promises and zero delivery” by the Congress government. The event aims to rally youth and students to take action and highlight Congress’s inability to deliver on its grandiose promises.

“This is not the Telangana of old times. Our people are aware and will not fall for Congress’s deceptions,” KTR emphasized, calling for widespread support from the youth to hold Congress accountable.

The event is expected to be a significant mobilization effort, as the BRS seeks to highlight the Congress party’s broken promises and galvanize the youth ahead of upcoming political contests.
