KTR asks Mayors, chairpersons to shun corruption, strive for development of their areas

Hyderabad: TRS working president and IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao today said the newly elected Mayors, Chairpersons and others should focus on development and avoid corruption. He criticized Congress and the BJP for the vilification campaign against the TRS on the municipal elections. “We won all the polls with absolute majority despite Opposition’s attempts to come in the way”, he said.

All the elected leaders called on him at the Telangana Bhavan on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, KTR made it clear that those who bring bad name and involve in corruption will lose their posts. “I will not listen to anyone and sack the leaders if found doing wrong things,” he said. He also slammed TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and BJP State president K Laxman for their vague talk on polls. Stating that Uttam and Laxman failed to field candidates at many places, KTR asked Uttam better to sit at home.

KTR said the people all over the state scornfully rejected them and supported KCR leadership for monumental development. “Let anyone tell, I will ask the corrupt to go home”, he said, adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was serious on this malady.  “We have won the polls as the people were vexed with the Congress and the BJP. Do not get carried away with proud as we are ought to serve and address people’s issues immediately,” KTR said.

The party working president said the Municipalities will get about Rs 3,000 crore and the TRS leaders should get ready to develop their areas. New Municipal Act will get them finds and responsibilities and offer training on the same. “We set a record by winning 122 out of 130 seats in ULBs. The Opposition faulted the previous and also fresh polls in which they lost. Let us dedicate time for speedy development by ignoring the Opposition criticism”, he added.
