Hyderabad: With the results of municipal polls favoring the ruling party, TRS working president KT Rama Rao today extended thanks to people. The results came in the TRS favour and increased our responsibility to serve people more efficiently.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday, the MA&UD minister said the people in the municipalities have reposed faith in the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He also attributed the big victory in the polls to the collective work of the ministers, legislators and local party leaders and activists of the ruling party. He said development works and welfare programs taken up from 2014 have proved it a big victory for TRS in the polls. On the allegations money influence, KTR said it is common for the Opposition parties to make such baseless charges. “Since the State formation, TRS won every single election with a resounding victory. We wanted to win a majority of civic bodies and we are delighted to have won over 100 out of 130 civic bodies, including all nine municipalities which is no mean feat. We will work with more vigor for welfare and development of the municipalities in future,” he said.
One of the top party leaders and Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the TRS swept the municipal elections delivering a huge blow to the jealous Opposition parties. Pointing out that the TRS has been winning every election after formation of separate State, Harish Rao said the indefatigable efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, K Tarakarama Rao and others fetched handsome victory in the polls. He also profusely thanked the people in the municipalities for their solid support.
Former MP K Kavitha also expressed her happiness on the civic poll results in favour of the TRS. “The people in the State strongly believe in KCR’s leadership and supported his welfare and development programs, she added. Health Minister Eetala Rajender and A Indra Karan Reddy also expressed their happiness over winning streak of TRS. “People have proved once again that victory belongs to TRS in every election. The winds of TRS are blowing across the State. Congratulations to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and TRS working president KT Rama Rao,” Harish Rao tweeted.
