KTR Defends BRS, Criticizes PM Modi and Congress Ahead of Telangana Elections

K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, defended his party and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), stating that BRS is a family of four crore people in the state, with KCR as the head of this “family.”

KTR underlined KCR’s involvement in providing social security pensions to older persons, assisting farmers through the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ investment plan, and giving farmers with ‘Rythu Beema’ life insurance. He characterized KCR as a part of every Telangana family.

KTR also chastised Prime Minister Modi for auctioning off the Singerani coal mines, claiming that it was an effort to privatize the state-run mining firm and accused Modi of forcing state-run companies to lose money in order to benefit corporate interests.

Furthermore, KTR attacked the Congress party, alleging that if they were elected, they would only offer three hours of power, constantly replace the chief minister, and indulge in several frauds.

KTR made these statements while participating in different development activities and meetings in the Chennur, Ramagundem, and Peddapalli assembly seats.

Prime Minister Modi stated in his Mahabubnagar speech that “Telangana wants a change” and alluded to suspected corruption under the BRS rule. He said that the BJP will give a transparent and honest administration, in contrast to the “family-run parties” of Telangana, which he accused of conducting politics like a private limited business.

Telangana’s 2018 assembly elections are likely to be closely contested, with many parties fighting for power in the state.
