KTR questions PM Modi about past commitments

The Industries Minister KT Rama Rao congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his grand plans for 2047 and asked about the Prime Minister’s past commitments for August 15, 2022.

He tweeted images of news reports about the Prime Minister’s promises to double farmers’ incomes by 2022, operate bullet trains by 2022, have India’s economy reach a five trillion dollar level by 2022, and provide housing for every Indian by 2022.

“New goals for 2047 are great.” he tweeted. “But what about your past promises for August 15, 2022 honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji? The nation wants to know,” he added.

In addition, the Minister further asked where is the accountability if you can’t even acknowledge your own targets and failures in meeting them?

KT Rama Rao also hit out at the Centre on Saturday, saying that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government has completely neglected the welfare of the people and has now begun the debate on freebies to make the lives of the common person “more miserable.”

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president slammed the Modi government for imposing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) “The Modi government is levying GST on necessities such as milk and curd. Inflationary pressures have broken the backs of the poor.”

He went on to say that during Modi’s eight years in power, poverty in the country had increased so much that we are now known for having more poor people than Nigeria.

The 14 Prime Ministers before Modi combined owed the country Rs 56 lakh crores, while Modi’s government borrowed more than Rs 80 lakh crores alone, he said. According to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), 37 percent of the country’s annual income is spent on paying interest on the money borrowed by the Central government.
