Hyderabad : Rachakonda Police today celebrated 3rd anniversary of the Family counselling centre at Kushaiguda run by Ankuram Organization and Rachakonda police, to deal with domestic violence cases.
Family counselling centre at Kushaiguda has completed three years today. In this 468 families got reunited, in 491 family matters, counselling is in progress and further 314 criminal cases were registered in different Police stations of Malkajgiri Zone.
The Counselling centre was started in 2016 at the initiation of Mahesh M. Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, as a social responsibility in Kushaiguda police station for counselling the victims of domestic violence cases in Rachakonda Commissionerate.
With the co-ordination of Ankuram Counselling Centre employees in 2757 cases of various domestic violence cases pertaining s to Rachakonda Commissionerate has been dealt during the period from October 2, 2016 to October 2, 2019. The Counseling centre works from 10.30 am to 5 PM during the working days for counselling of domestic violence cases. Because of this counselling centre the domestic violence cases are reduced during the above period.
During the three years period the counselling centre dealt with 223 cases of Domestic violence due to dowry, 335 cases of alcohol addiction, 164 cases of harassment by In-Laws for petty reasons, 165 cases of violence due to suspicious nature of husband, 164 cases of husband’s negligence towards his family, 186 cases of violence due to extra- marital affairs, 14 cases of violence due to birth of girl children, 46 cases of male complainants, 18 cases of Inter-religion marriages and living together relationships and 4 cases of POCSO, all pertaining to Rachakonda Commissionerate.
Among the above four couples, Suresh DRDO scientist and his family, Laxmi and Madhu, Usha and Omprakash and Swathi and Shankar have narrated their success stories.
All the victims of domestic violence living in Malkajgiri zone are requested to utilize the services of this Counselling centre.
