Lebanon Political Leader Accuses US of Inciting Sedition

Amidst the US withdrawing their army troops from Afghanistan, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has accused the country of pitting the Lebanese Army against the Shia movement.

Nasrallah Accuses US of Inciting Sedition in Lebanon

As per the latest reports, in a televised speech on Friday said that the US statements in support of the Lebanese army to face the Hezbollah are aimed at inciting sedition amongst the Lebanese.

He further said that his party has always been in favour of reinstating the Lebanese army which ensures security, integrity and unity against the Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, he called upon the Lebanese authorities to hurry in forming a cabinet to tackle the multiple crises that the country is facing. Along with his readiness to import fuel from Iran in case the government fails to deal with the shortage problems.

Nasrallah Slams US Of Seizing Iranian-Linked News Website Domains

Earlier this week, the US Justice Department seized 36 Iranian-linked news website domains. They claimed that those websites were spreading disinformation as the tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to escalate.

The Justice Department said that out of 36 websites, 33 were owned by a US-based company and were used by the Iraninan Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU). The department accused IRTVU of being components of the Iranian government that further targeted the United States with disinformation campaigns and other false influence operations.

The remaining other three seized websites were (reportedly) operated by one of the main Iran-aligned Iraqi militia groups, Kata’ib Hizballah. The group was declared as a foreign terrorist organisation by the US, more than a decade ago.

Following which, Nasrallah slammed the US Justice department for seizing the Iranian-linked news website domains. He said that the move makes it clear that Washington’s claims for freedom are false.
