In a heart-wrenching incident, a four-year-old LKG student lost her life in a road accident at Hayathnagar on Thursday evening. The young girl, identified as B Ritvika, was fatally run over by a private minivan that she regularly used for commuting to school.
According to police reports, the incident occurred when Ritvika got down from the vehicle near her home in Pedda Amberpet under the Hayathnagar police station limits. As she was walking, the van driver, K Ganesh, failed to notice her behind the vehicle while reversing, tragically running over her.
Ritvika was a student at a private school in Abdullapurmet and had just returned home when the accident took place. Authorities confirmed that the driver’s negligent actions led to the fatal mishap, resulting in her death on the spot.

Following a complaint from the girl’s parents, Hayathnagar police registered a case against the driver and took him into custody for further investigation. Station House Officer P Nagaraju Goud stated that the driver was tested for alcohol consumption, but the results came back negative. Officials are also verifying documents related to the vehicle’s fitness and other regulatory details.
The girl’s body was later shifted to Osmania Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
