Lockdown takes away EID fervour in Telangana

The ongoing lockdown in Telangana state has disrupted the usual Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations in the state. The Muslims of the State could not offer the Eid prayers at Eidgahs and mosques due to the prohibition on them as part of the lockdown restrictions. Left with no option.

The Muslims have offered the Eid prayers at their homes along with their family members. They could not also meet their family members and relatives during the day due to the commencement of lockdown at 10 am.

Speaking on the occasion a Muslim youth from Tolichowki said that it would have been better if the state government extended the lockdown relaxations till 1 pm in the afternoon. The police have manned all Important mosques of the state to see that none offered the Eid prayers at the mosques. However, four devotees are allowed to offer the prayers at the mosques.

CP tours old city

On the other hand, the Hyderabad CP Anjani Kumar toured different areas of the old city of Hyderabad to observe the implementation of the lockdown. He also took a video of his visit and shared it on his Twitter account.

The video has sown the observance of the lockdown in the old city. In his tweet, he said that he was proud to be in the city whose residents strictly follow all lockdown rules. “ I love Hyderabad’ what about you ?” He tweeted.
