Man slits wife throat suspecting her of cheating on him

While cheating scandals often result in dilution of a marriage, some people tend to take matters or rather a law in their own hands and kill their suspected partners, In a similar case of suspected fidelity, a Telangana man killed his wife after doubting her faithfulness towards him dozens of times.

The incident took place in the victim’s parents’ house in Narasimha Basthi of Dundigal on the latter half of August 24th, Monday.

Madhav, the accused had married Kashibai two years back and had relocated to Telangana as he originally worked as a laborer in Maharashtra’s Latur. The 25-year-old husband was residing at his in-laws home along with his wife.

The man left for Pune, Maharashtra almost three months back in search of a livelihood and later came back early in August as the job opportunities weren’t many. Since the day of his return, the husband began suspecting the 20-year-old wife of cheating on him and started fighting with her often due to his doubts.

The police reports say that the crime took place in the absence of the wife’s parents as they had left for work at the time.

Speaking about the incident and how the man mercilessly killed Kashibai, the police said that the killing resulted after a quarrel between the couple. Madhav slit the throat of his wife, going over her neck repeatedly with the knife that led to her immediate death.

They said, “Following a heated argument, Madhav grabbed a vegetable knife from the kitchen and slashed multiple times at her on the neck. She suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot.”

The police added that the suspect had escaped the crime scene after executing it and locked the house before fleeing.

Upon the return of the victim’s parents, they opened the door after many attempts as they found it suspiciously locked. As soon as they entered the house, Kashibai’s body was found in the kitchen, lying lifeless with an open throat and blood pooling around, oozing from her body.

The police officers of Dundigal managed to catch Madhav and took him under custody to present him in court for trial. The body of Kashibai was later brought in the hospital for post-mortem.

With domestic violence and women-related crimes increasing in the country, people are blaming this on the pandemic saying that it is stealing jobs from men and driving them to commit these crimes by throwing their anguish due to joblessness over their wives.
