Man stabs wife to death and plays video game beside corpse

Fed up of the taunts and frequent arguments related to his unemployment, a 35-year-old man killed his wife by stabbing her multiple times with a pair of scissors.

The accused later called the police himself to report the incident of the death after executing it late on Sunday night.

According to the statement given by the accused, Vikram Singh, to the police, the couple had an intense quarrel about his job after which he picked up a pair of scissors and repeatedly struck the instrument in her, leading to the woman’s death.

The incident took place in BJS colony of Jodhpur, Rajasthan where the couple lived with their 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. The children weren’t present at the time of the crime.

After killing his wife, the accused informed the police and his in-laws following which both the teams rushed to the spot.

The police found Vikram in the house, playing video games on his phone while his victim, Shiv Kanwar laid lifeless surrounded by a pool of blood in a room inside their house.

According to the police, the man did not have a percent of remorse over his face as he was also casually going through his phone.

The deceased was taken to the hospital immediately but was declared dead before arrival, said Mahamandir’s SHO, Kailashdan.

The officer also told the media that the married couple reportedly had many disputes due to Vikram’s joblessness.

The wife was a tailor and they had rented out a couple of shops in the front portion of their home through which they could afford the daily household expenses.

Hindustan Times reported the SHO as saying, “The accused confessed that he was not working for the last few months and was dependent on the money he received from his rented house to meet the family expenses. The couple had tensed ties for some time due to the man’s joblessness as he wasn’t doing anything while his wife used to do stitching work at home.”

After informing the police at 1 am, the accused allegedly tried to cook up other stories, one of which spoke about his apparent deterioration of mental health that led him to kill his wife in the morning that day.

He later confessed to his crime that he had stabbed his wife many times on her neck and other body parts before she collapsed and died due to serious injuries.

“When we rushed to the spot, we found the accused playing a video game on his mobile phone without any signs of regret on his face,” the police officer said.

The police have pressed murder charges on the husband and arrested him under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

In another incident pertaining to domestic violence and crimes against women on the same night of Sunday, a 20-year-old man killed his 19-year-old wife after doubting her loyalty towards him.

The incident of Thane, Maharashtra resulted after the man, Mohammed Fazal Ansari brought up the topic again and strangled his wife, Suraiya, to death in a fit of rage following a big fight.
