Manmohan Singh Commends GCOT’s Award on Mahatma’s 150th birth Anniversary

Hyderabad: Ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has praised the Gramodaya Chamber of Commerce and Technology (GCOT) for establishing the Gramodaya Bandhu Mitra Puraskar on the event of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi.

GCOT in the previous week introduced the awards to 150 champions of Gram Swaraj in acknowledgment of their services in segments like agriculture, self-dependent villages, and rural development towards achieving the objective of Gram Swaraj.

In a letter to the association, Manmohan Singh said Mahatma Gandhi presented Gram Swaraj as an instrument to advance the transformation of each village into a self-dependent village where all the frameworks and facilities for a stately living are accessible.

The former Prime Minister wrote: “He took many constructive initiatives with the idea of self-sufficiency and upliftment of the common man in socio-economic fields. Gandhi Ji’s programs for the revival of domestic products through cottage industries, all-round village service, co-operative, and cattle protection are some of his constructive initiatives for rural development. The values favored by Mahatma Gandhi for the encouragement of peace, humanity, and universal brotherhood in the nation and abroad are of universal relevance. Gandhi ji always preached about self-discipline and classified this as one of the foremost qualities of a human being. He also stated that self-discipline in a man is the key to a peaceful and successful life.”

The GCOT group felt glad to get a salutary and all the best wishes from Manmohan Singh. In a message to the fellow partners, the party heads have shared the duplicate of Manmohan Singh’s letter.

Chief Advisor Shyam Mohan, Chairman Shyam Prasad Reddy, Chairman, UTSAV advisory group, Dr B. Prathap Reddy, General Secretary P. Slam Reddy, Delhi Vasanth author and CEO Sravan Madap, COO Kameshuar Raju, and Advisor Dr Pasam Prasad said that they will obey the values of Mahatma Gandhi.
