Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar on Tuesday undertook whirlwind tour different colonies, which have reported dengue positive cases in the city.
The special drive was undertaken following a directive by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao during a review meeting held on Monday. The minister himself has undertaken the inspection of his own residence to remove any stagnated water. The Mayor visited Vinobhanagar in Lalapet and inspected the residences of local people. He urged the residents of the area to remove any stored and stagnated water from their houses.
Later, he visited the HMDA office at Tarnaka and asked the Zonal Commissioner Sankaraiah to take steps for the construction of a bus bay in the area. He also visited Manikeswari Nagar and created awareness among the residents of the area about the steps to be initiated to prevent mosquitoes in their areas. (NSS)
