Messi Intends to depart from Barcelona

Reports say that the world-famous football player, Lionel Messi, wishes to depart from Barcelona this summer.

As per the ESPN, it was confirmed by the club that they were informed by Messi of his decision thru burofax, which is a service commonly used in Spain to dispatch an urgent document that needs proof to third parties

The choice has broken a ton of hearts as Messi fans accumulated outside the Camp Nou arena once the news got open.

The big news came eleven days after the humiliating loss of Barcelona to Bayern Munich which went 2-8 in the Champions League quarterfinals. This loss marks one of the worst defeats not only in the player’s career but also in the club’s history.

Following the Bayern humiliation, reports started to spread around that Messi was thinking about leaving the Catalan giants, despite the fact that his contract has not even ended with the club.

The 33-year-old football player has a contract with the club till 2021, but couldn’t help but be disappointed with the events that took place off and on the ground at Camp Nou in the past few months.

After the Catalan side’s embarrassing 8-2 loss by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed to Barca TV: “Messi has said several times that he wants to finish his career at Barca.

Quique Setien was dismissed from his position as a coach after the dreadful Bayern loss. Messi made acquaintance with Setien’s replacement, Ronald Koeman, a few days back, informing him that his uncertain about his future in Catalonia.

Even Carles Puyo, a former Barcelona defender and also a captain and teammate to Messi, tweeted out his support. “Respect and admiration, Leo,” he wrote. “All my support, friend” he added.

An official announcement concerning the same still hasn’t been published by Barcelona, but statements imply Messi’s legal partners have already faxed a message to the administration of the club.

It is led to believe that only a few numbers of teams could afford the player, and Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain is one of those teams and it could be Messi’s next destination.

It is also speculated that Manchester city could be where Messi is next headed.

If this wasn’t enough, another Barcelona player, Luis Suarez, has also decided to leave the club behind.

The radio station that reported this news and the one that has a very friendly relationship with the club, informed that Koeman summoned Suarez this Monday and delivered him the news in a short discussion, writes Xinhua news agency.

This news was broken by RAC1 just two days after Suarez spoke to a Spanish newspaper ‘El Paris’ to say that “nobody” had discussed his future with him before.

After the news broke, Suarez reacted to Messi’s decision by agreeing with his call. Suarez also reacted to Carlos Puyol’s tweet.

With two of the biggest assets of Barcelona stepping out the door, it is uncertain how this will affect the club.
