Mild tremors were felt across parts of Telangana on Monday evening, causing panic among residents in the districts of Karimnagar, Jagtial, and Peddapalli. Locals reported sudden ground shaking, prompting people to rush out of their homes and offices in fear.
Eyewitnesses described not only the tremors but also a loud explosion-like sound that accompanied the shaking, heightening fear among the public. The mysterious sound was reportedly heard simultaneously in several areas, sparking widespread speculation and concern.
Although the exact magnitude and epicenter of the tremors have not yet been confirmed by any official geological or meteorological department, district authorities have placed local field staff on alert to monitor the situation closely.
In Jagtial district, areas such as Dharmapuri, Korutla, and Metpally reportedly experienced stronger tremors. On social media, residents posted videos and photos showing people rushing outdoors, visibly shaken by the incident.
Tremors were also reported from Sultanabad, Vemulawada, and Sircilla in the Karimnagar district, as well as Kaddam and Khanapur in Nirmal district and the Jannaram area of Mancherial district.
The sudden seismic activity sent a wave of fear across communities, with residents gathering in open spaces and streets, fearing for their safety. While initial reports suggest the tremors were of low intensity, experts have warned that such movements may indicate shifts in the Earth’s inner layers.
