Not yet the outrage against the demolition of two Mosque in the state secretariat is simmer down, another issue of a similar nature is brewed up at Shamshabad wherein Muslim community is protesting against the proposed plan to pull down Masjid-e-Noor of Qutub Shahi era in the name of road widening.
Unlike the earlier issue, this time the alleged direct role of AIMIM party has came to the fore. People infuriated after learning about the audacity of a MIM leader from Rajendranagar, who said to have been asked the management committee to support him in paving way for the demolition of Shamshabad mosque.
Learning the same the opposition leaders especially Osman Mohammed Khan has rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. The Management committee of the mosque explained him in length about the alleged harassment of MIM leader and the sinister move he is playing to pave way for the demolition of the holy structure.
Later talking to the media, the president of the management committee Sheikh Ali Abbas said, “Masjid-e-Noor is a 400 year old mosque standing alongside the road at Shamshabad. This mosque was in targeted of the government officials since a last 18 years wherein it was brought under the ambit of master plan to pay way for road widening.”
Though we are fighting since the beginning to protect the mosque since several years, he said, the matter got worst since a week after the MIM Incharge Rajendranagar started exerting pressure on us asking to cooperate in paving way for the demolition of mosque. However, we stood firm and decided not to succumb to his pressure.
Claiming that, earlier too the AIMIM leader came to us asking to hand over the land of the mosque for road widening, he said, “We categorically turn down his request saying the land is not our father’s estate to part with. Whatever you want to ask, ask it before Wakf Board to which he replied that his party’s chief has already discussed the matter with the board.”
“However, the Chairman Wakf Board categorically rejected the claim made by the MIM leader saying no such discussion has happened. The Chairman instead firmly clarified that no such demand would be accepted what may come in the way,” he asserted.
The management committee even alleged that the MIM leader from Rajendranagar is regularly harassing the committee elders even by calling them at the death of the night asking for consent to pull the mosque. They even demanded the AIMIM Chief to take action against the leader for harassing and demanding “void ab initio” favour from the management committee.
Talking at the occasion, the congress leader Osman Mohammed Khan said “It is a clear cut prove that the MIM Party – which until now claim itself as a champion of the Muslim cause, is the actual perpetrator and is directly or indirectly involved in the demolition of the Mosques in and around the city.”
Claiming that the 400 year old mosque is an architectural marvel of the Qutub Shahi era, he said “The structure was built not just with a material support but with utmost compassion and devotion to Almighty. Muslims here are having emotional bonding with the bygone era mosque and their unwavering struggle for years to protect it is a concrete prove.”
