MP Komatireddy appointed as new Congress star campaigner

State All India Congress Committee (AICC) has designated party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy its star campaigner. In this regard, the party president Sonia Gandhi approved Venkat Reddy’s appointment.

According to a statement released on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami, AICC general secretary and party MP KC Venugopal announced that Reddy would become the star campaigner of the party in Telangana with immediate effect.

As a result of his appointment, Komatireddy can now campaign for the party for the next assembly election. Komatireddy said he would tour the state to expose the failures of the TRS government in response to the appointment

On Sunday, Venkat Reddy told reporters in Nalgonda that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was cheating the people with false promises. He said the Congress would end Chandrashekar Rao’s family rule soon.

Komatireddy also noted that the TRS was the only government that did not extend any benefits to tenant farmers who were actively engaged in farming and working on the fields. Landlords who were not engaged in agriculture but in real estate received a large portion of the benefits.

He alleged that instead of safeguarding the poor farmers from the land grabbers the government itself was threatening them to hand over the lands for real estate business.

It is worth noting that A Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy competed for the position of TPCC president. Revanth Reddy was chosen over Komatireddy for the post of TPCC president, however.

As a student leader for the Congress party, Venkat Reddy began his political career. In 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014, he was elected to the Assembly. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2018 from the Bhongir constituency. Having stayed away from the TPCC leadership, he has recently become involved in Congress programmes.
