Mukesh Ambani Becomes The Richest Billionaire in India, Gautam Adani Follows

In the latest update, the chairman of the Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani has topped the Forbes list of 10 richest billionaires. His net worth currently stands at $84.5 billion.

Reliance Industries Earned Huge Profits Amidst Declining Economy

Reports suggest that despite the Covid 19 pandemic and the global economi decline, Reliance Industries made huge profits of $35 billion. It was made through various deals to achieve his target of releasing Reliance Industries of debt by the year 2021.

Talking about his success, Forbes said that Ambani has also sold a third of his telecom unit Jio to huge investors like Facebook and Google. He also sold around 10 percent of the Reliance Retail to private equity firms like the KKR and General Atlantic. Further concluded a rights issue of Reliance shares for $7.3 billion.

Gautam Adani Follows Mukesh Ambani To The Forbes’s Billionaires List

Right after Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani stands second in ths Forbes’s list of top 10 billionaires. He also has a diversified businesses and has also taken a huge share of India’s airport management and operations business. Adani’s net worth is calculated to be $50.5 billion.

As per reports, Adani has acquired 74 percent stake of the Mumbai International Airport in September last year. The Mumbai International Airport is said to be the second busiest airport in India. Furthermore, Adani also sold 20 per cent of his listed renewable firm named Adani Green Energy to French energy giant Total for a whopping $2.5 billion.

Following both Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani is the founder of HCL, Shiv Nadar. His net worth stands at $23.5 billion.

In July last year, Shiv Nadar stepped down as the Chairman of HCL technologies with a revenue of $9.9 billion. He handed over his position to his daughter Roshni Nadar Malhotra.

For the Forbes’s Top 10 Richest Billionaires in India, the fourth position is received by Radhakishan Daman, the founder of Avenue Supermarts’ with a net worth of $16.5 billion. And the fifth position is received by MD Uday Kotak, the founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank with a net worth of $15.9 billion.
