Muslim issues multiplied in KCR govt while iftar parties are continue: Rashed Khan

Despite receiving sharp criticism from a section of Muslim community, intellectuals, naysayers and the opposition leaders, the KCR government is moving ahead with its planned Grand Iftar Party at L.B.Stadium on April 12 where all arrangements said to have been completed to welcome the guests.

A day earlier, the Home Minister Mahmood Ali accompanied and Minister for Minority Welfare K.Ishwar accompanied by other minority leaders, mainly from TRS party, visited L.B.Stadium to take stock of the arrangements put in play to hold the grand iftar party wherein 13000 people are expected to be invited.

Later, the Home Minister and Minority Welfare Minister went into huddle with the officials from different departments to review the arrangements. It is said that out of the blue, the announcement of the Grand Iftar Party left the officials on their toes for arrangements.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister for Minority Welfare said “the Chief Minister K.Chandrashekher Rao has decided to officially host the grand iftar party as usual this year and greet the Muslims community.”

It is said that the arrangements were made to divide the venue into three separate sections such as VIPs, VVIPs and general category. The BRS leaders and activists will be accommodated in general category. Officials were told to pass invitations to Religious scholars, Ministers, MLAs from Greater Hyderabad limits, MLCs, Retired IAS and IPS officers.

In view of the grant iftar party, the district administration made special security and traffic arrangements around L.B.Stadium where 13000 visitors are expected to turn up for the event. According to the Minister for Minority Welfare, the government has made arrangements for iftar for people observing fast as well as distribution of Ramzan kits among the poor people.

It is not out of place to mention here that recently, several intellectuals and opposition leaders from minority community took a jibe at KCR government for announcing frivolous iftar parties depicting itself as Muslim friendly government but turning a complete blind eye towards primary issues concerning Muslim in the state.

“The CM KCR is trying to divide Muslims’ attention from their issues through hosting such frivolous iftar parties instead of taking measures to fulfill the promises he made to the Minority community during pre-election hustings,” lamented Mohammed Rashed Khan, the General Secretary Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. KCR Government, he said, failed miserably on fronts especially when it comes to resolving the issues concerning Muslims during the last nine years of rule.

“People, especially the Muslims are now feel that they have been cheated badly by the so-called Muslim friendly government as their issues lie at the same point where they were before the BRS party came to power, instead, they have multiplied during the KCR rule,” he asserted.
