Hyderabad : Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao today launched a scathing attack on TD president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for pumping in several crores of rupees to lure voters by using his Intelligence police. CEO Rajat Kumar should take immediate action against the AP police for conducting a survey here in the name of reporters at Dharmapuri, he demanded.
The local youth and people questioned them and handed over to Telangana police for violating poll code norms, he told mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here. He sought to know as to why Chandrababu sent his Intelligence police to camp in Hyderabad. “We are not ready to tolerate at Chandrababu’s conspiracy to malign the poll code by sending his police personnel to distribute money as he does not believe in the Congress with which the TD has tied up for the polls.
KT Rama Rao lashed out at Naidu for stooping down to a level to use his police to gauge the mood of the people in the wake of elections. He also said that the Opposition leaders are seeking the help of Chandrababu Naidu, who is said to be funding for Assembly polls in Telangana. The Opposition parties are making false complaints that the police checking their vehicles and harassing them. “The police can check the vehicles of any leaders, including mine and the ruling party leaders as part of their duty to follow poll code”, he said.
Naidu struck a deal with AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi for providing Rs 500 crore towards election expenditure to lure voters for the Mahakutami, he alleged. But the people do not believe in the Congress and the Telugu Desam parties, KTR said. “Chandrababu is maligning the fair poll atmosphere in the State using his police for cheap politics”, he deplored. He also said Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy had set on fire crores of money in his Innova car during the previous elections. (NSS)
