The only toy train in the city, a cherished attraction at Nehru Zoo Park, has resumed operations after a four-month hiatus for essential engine repairs. The beloved ride was officially flagged off on Saturday afternoon by Dr. Sunil S. Hiremath, the Director and Curator of Nehru Zoological Park, from its original starting station.
Originally gifted by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in 1968, the toy train has been a long-standing favorite among visitors, particularly families with children. Its return has been met with excitement and joy from the public, as many eagerly awaited the opportunity to enjoy the ride once again.
On the first day of its reopening, approximately 400 visitors took advantage of the toy train ride, with children expressing particular delight as they embarked on the journey through the picturesque zoo park. Dr. Sunil noted the enthusiasm among the young riders, highlighting the significance of the toy train in creating joyful memories for families visiting the park.
