NIA unleashed crackdown on PFI hideouts simultaneously in Hyderabad and Bihar

While the outcry continues alleging the Enforcement Department of witch hunting the political leaders from opposition parties in various cases, the another homeland investigating agency called National Investigation Agency (NIA) too intensified searches simultaneously at houses of suspected members of PFI in different parts of the country.

The investigating agency continued its crackdown against the suspected members of banned group called Popular Front of India (PFI) in Turkolia, Mehasi and Chakia areas in Bihar on Friday and Saturday. Besides, the NIA officials took four under trail persons into custody from Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad on Saturday.

According to reports, a 10 members team led by NIA DSP Vineet Kumar carried out a search at the house of one Irshad Alam, a suspected member of PFI, in Harpur Bazar area in Mehsi on Friday. Later they took Irshad into custody for his alleged involvement in the Phulwarisharif case. During the search, it is said that the NIA team seized a mobile phone being used by Irshad Alam. Based upon the mobile phone data, the NIA sleuths touched down Irshad’s house again on Saturday along with the arrested youth and carried out searches at the houses of his relatives and other suspected members of the band group at Jaisinghpur in Turkaulia, Harpurnaga and Chakia Kuwa in Mehsi.

Earlier in the first week of February, the NIA team along with the local police took nearly three persons into custody charging them of involvement in violent activities of the PFI. The three persons detained by the NIA team include Mohammed Tanvee resident of Bahadurpur in Mehsi, Raja alias Barkati and Mohammed Abid and Irshad Alias Bilal.

The series of raids being carried out by the NIA in Mehsi has created a climate of fear among the local people.

Similarly, the NIA slooths reached Hyderabad on Saturday and reportedly took four under trail suspected members of PFI into custody from Chanchalguda Jail. According to reports, the four undertrail PFI members Zahed, Samiuddin, Muaz Hussain and Kaleem were taken into custudy by the investigating agency.

It is said that all the NIA officials took the under trail persons to its Regional Office in Madhapur to interrogate them in a case that was booked against the members of  band organisation last year. It is pertinent to mention here that the investigating agency arrested atleast 20 persons accusing them of working for a band group out of which chargesheets were filed against 11 of them.
