Nitish Kumar’s move left BJP ‘Ba-Haal in Bihar.’ Episode may turn political tide in the country

Debating over ‘Be-Haal BJP in Bihar’ where Janata Dal United Supremo Nitish Kumar and the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejaswi Yadav pack gave a severe blow to BJP, the senior Journalist Shravan Garg said “the latest political development in Bihar has actually derailed the BJP from its course who is toppling down governments in opposition ruled states one after another and forced it to set its own house into order.”

While participating in a debate over a news channel, Shravan said, “No doubt that Nitish Kumar has blocked off BJP’s pace in the country that too at a time when the whole bunch of opposition was found completely demoralised and shaken out of stupor due to the use of enforcement directorate by the saffron fold and the recent rulings of court that left them completely frightened. The BJP that thus far found focusing on using enforcement directorate (ED) to settle the score with opposition has now harked back and needs to put its own room into order as Nitish Kumar has changed the entire discourse and emerged as a viable alternative leader.”

“Howerver, I don’t think that Nitish Kumar is planning to play as a frontrunner for the post of Prime Minister. Nitish, in fact, allow Tegaswi Yadav to take the lead while he himself play an active role in national politics. The element of plausibility is that Tegaswi Yadav has emerged as a viable political alternative in the country that has mettle to fill the void created in the opposition due to the damage caused to the Trinamool Congress, a BJP’s bête noire led by Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal,” he contended.

“Nitish got the chance this time and doesn’t want to miss this opportunity sensing the enormity that the remiss would cost him dearer and throw his political career to the wind for a long time. What he did will leave a significant impact over the upcoming elections in several states next year,” he explained.

The latest development from Bihar comes as a blow to BJP and has a long lasting impact, he further said adding that “There was an assumption that the BJP will move next to Jharkhand after it plugged a ploy to topple down Udhav Thakray in Maharashtra. Now, the Bihar episode comes as a roadblock for BJP that may help Jharkhand Mukti Morcha led by Shibu Soren to strengthen his party position in Jharkhand.”

“The other non BJP governments, who were thus far frightened with BJP’s veiled moves, may gain the ground in their respective states. This will leave an impact over the perception of people, the media and the Judiciary as well that may bring a change in the country. I believe that the Bihar episode augurs well for a democratic country and hints at strengthening a democratic framework in the days to come,” contended Shravan Garg.
