Nitish warns Muslims against BJP and AIMIM’s divisive political ambitions

While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying hard to put its south Indian expansion policy into play by making Hyderabad its base and launch all the ideology based activities especially in Telangana, its political bete noire Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, is having different plans for the saffron fold in his state and elsewhere in the country.

While ratcheting-up the move to bring all the secular parties on a single platform, the Janata Dal (United) leader has called a meeting of Muslim Organisations, intellectuals and religious leaders at his official resident on January 03, to discuss the future course of action in the state as well as on the national platform. His primary aim is to forewarn the Muslim community about the ill-ambitions of the BJP as well as the AIMIM to prevent further split of the Muslim votes during the upcoming elections in 2024.

While addressing the gathering, the JDU leader Nitish Kumar urged the Muslim community to be very cautious about the political ploy of the BJP and the AIMIM saying that both the communal based parties are trying their best to jeopardise the communal harmony in the country.

Interestingly, no Muslim leader from JDU was invited at the meeting which was held at the official residence of the party chief Nitish Kumar. It is learnt that the JDU chief shared his apprehensions while addressing the gathering that the BJP will try to raise its hood again to disrupt the communal harmony ahead of the general elections.

In a fervent appeal to the Muslim intellectuals, he said, the muslims should be cautious about the divisive forces trying to harm the peace and harmony of the state. He also urged the muslims to be very vigilant from AIMIM which is, according to him, playing very much as a ‘B’ team of BJP.

Politicians like Asad Owaisi are putting the communal harmony of the country into jeopardy with their hateful narratives that resulted in a split of Muslim votes. While explaining his party’s contribution in the development of Muslim in Bihar, he said, his government took several steps for the welfare of Muslims in Bihar during the last 18 years.

Referring to the unexpected vote split witnessed during the general election in the year 2020, Nitish Kumar said, “AIMIM fielded several candidates in Seemanchal that resulted in a split of Muslim votes. But now he wants to consolidate the Muslim votes to prevent the BJP from further advancement.”

JDU leader’s move is said to be a part of his campaign to unite the opposition to defeat the BJP at national level. As part of his campaign he, so far, held deliberations with leaders from Congress, NCP, AAP, Janata Dal Secular and CPIM in the recent past.
