North Korean Celebrates 73rd Anniversary Of Bilateral Relations With Russia

The North Korean on Tuesday stressed to the world about their unwavering friendship with Russia. This comes as a celebration of their 73rd anniversary of establishing ties and further vowed the enhance their cooperation against an “adverse environment”.

North Korea And Russia Reaffirmed Their Relations 

As per the reports, the North Korea Foreign Ministry said that there has been unwavering advancement in their bilateral relations and their cooperation has been “reaffirmed”. This means that their long standing relations will be strengthened and developed.

This comes in reference to the first meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin back in April 2019.

The ministry said in a statement that North Korea leader, Kim Jong-un always pays deep attention to the development of the relationship between North Korea and Russia. This is followed by an opening up in the development of their relationship as required by the new era.

The statement further added that even during the adverse environments of global pandemic and the ever changing international situation, the North Korea and Russia are continuously working towards strengthening strategic cooperation.

North Korea had established diplomatic ties with Russia (which was then Soviet Union) on October 12, 1948. This was also the first diplomatic relations for North Korea.

North Korea Vows To Build Invincible Army 

Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un recently made comments at a rare defence exhibition. It showed a variety of large missiles for self-defense. In the speech, Mr Kim clarified that they are not starting a war against anyone and the weapons were only for self defence.

He said that they are not discussing war but they just want to prevent war itself and to only increase war deterrence for the protection of national sovereignty. He further accused the US of stoking tensions between North and South Korea and it was not on behavioural basis.
