Odisha Government Makes Rs 5 Cr Donation to Flood-Hit Hyderabad and Parts of Telangana

Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Chief Minister, on Wednesday declared that he will contribute Rs 5 crore for relief works in flood-hit Hyderabad and parts of Telangana.

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy tweeted, “Hon CM Sri Naveen Patnaik announced a contribution of Rs 5 crore towards relief efforts post-flood in Hyderabad/parts of Telangana as a gesture from people of Odisha.”

Around 70 individuals passed away because of weighty rains and flash floods in Hyderabad and different sections of Telangana.

In a preliminary estimation, the legislature pegged the losses at over Rs 5,000 crore caused because of downpours and floods.

Many Tollywood celebrities have come forward to help the flood-hit territories.

Popular star Mahesh Babu and senior celebrity Chiranjeevi took to social media and declared a donation of Rs 1 crore to the Telangana CM Relief Fund. While Vijay Deverakonda donated Rs 10 lakh, Anil Ravipudi and Harish Shankar gave Rs 5 lakh each. While Balakrishna gave Rs 50 lakh a few days back, Trivikram Srinivas gave Rs 5 lakh.

Joining the noble cause, ‘Rebel Star’ Prabhas declared a contribution of Rs 1.5 crore for flood relief works in the state. In a video explanation, well-known entertainer cum-politician Pawan Kalyan said that he will be donating Rs 1 crore to the CM relief fund. He likewise encouraged his fans and the cadre of his Jana Sena party to approach and partake in the relief activities

On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) declared a money financial bundle of Rs 550 crore for the flood-hit individuals living in the low-lying regions and guaranteed Rs 10,000 as a quick relief to every family hit by the floods.
