Orange Alert Issued as Heavy Rainfall Hits Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has issued an orange signal for Telangana, anticipating heavy rain throughout the state until Tuesday. Furthermore, the weather service has extended the orange notice for the entire state from September 6 to September 8.

The IMD has predicted rain or thundershowers in all six zones of Hyderabad: Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally. Rainfall in the city is predicted to be heavy at times.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reports that the state has suffered significant rainfall. The greatest recorded rainfall was 157.5 mm in Mugpal, Nizamabad.Rainfall in Hyderabad was also considerable, with Amberpet receiving the most at 13.3 mm.

TSDPS has anticipated additional rainfall in Telangana districts till September 6, 2023. Telangana residents are encouraged to arrange their travel and activities accordingly in light of the heavy rainfall forecast.
