Organizers of New Year parties must apply for police permission by Dec 23

Rachakonda Police, who has released directives for the celebration of New Year, has informed the organizers of parties and other events to obtain permission from police by applying before 5 pm by December 23.

Applications for permission must be submitted to the Police Commissioner’s office.

“Given forthcoming New Year Celebrations, those interested in organizing events may submit an application in writing on or before December 23 for issuance of permits. The application letter may be submitted at the inward section, CP Office at Rachakonda, Neredmet,” the release stated.

The organizers, which include hotels, pubs, restaurants, and gated communities, can only hold events in the city until 1 a.m.

Police officials have also made it clear that no minors should be permitted in programs organized exclusively for couples, and the age of the attendees should be checked for entry, as well as a copy of the valid identity cards of the visitors.

The DJs will not be permitted at outdoor events, and the sound of musical events will not be permitted to be heard beyond the premises.

K Shilpavalli, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Madhapur), has directed that surveillance cameras be installed at the venue, that separate enclosures be provided for couples and stags, that singers and performers not be allowed to mingle or venture into the crowd, and that no vulgarity, obscene dressing, or obscene dances be permitted.

“Any act which is likely to cause disturbance or adversely affect public safety or create hatred between different classes of people or hurt religious feelings of any person is prohibited. Strict action will be taken against such people and that any establishment violating any of the conditions laid down in the permission will be prosecuted. The punishment could entail closing and sealing of the premises,” she said adding that the conditions apply to all gated communities as well.

Neighbors’ complaints about establishments hosting New Year’s Eve celebrations will be taken seriously. The organizers have been instructed to use only box type speakers, and the Central Pollution Control Board’s noise level of 45 decibels must be strictly adhered to,” an official said.
