ORR lease issue: Revanth Reddy warns of criminal action against Arvind Kumar

According to the latest reports, TPCC President Revanth Reddy has warned that criminal action will be taken against IAS officer Arvind Kumar if he does not withdraw the legal notices served on him in the ORR lease and tendering issue.

Revanth, through his lawyer, responded to Arvind Kumar’s legal notice in the ORR lease issue. There are service rules that govern how an IAS officer should act and carry out his or her responsibilities. However, Arvind Kumar is behaving like as a politician by failing to follow the rules and failing to provide the requested information.

According to the All India Services (Conduct) Rules 1968, an IAS officer must act impartially and without political motivations. Arvind Kumar, on the other hand, was speaking on behalf of the party. Half of the Nehru ORR falls under Malkajigiri Parliament, which I represent as MP.

Despite the possibility of a higher income, the government’s income has been compromised without thinking about it and the ORR toll collection tender has been awarded to IRB for 30 years for only Rs.7380 crores. Furthermore, all of the rules were arbitrarily broken during the awarding of the IRB tender. The HMDA Master Plan will come to an end in 2031. The master plan will change after 2031 if it is leased for 30 years. This will exacerbate the situation, he added.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had earlier issued the Malkajgiri MP a legal notice demanding an unconditional public apology within 48 hours for his reported “false and defamatory statements on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) lease” and asking that he refrain from making similar baseless and disparaging remarks in the future.

The legal notice said that Revanth Reddy’s failure to offer an unconditional apology in public within 48 hours of receiving the notice, as well as cease and desist from actions to ‘defame the HMDA with false remarks and statements’, would result in appropriate legal actions under both civil and criminal laws.
