Customs sleuths on Wednesday seized over one kg of gold at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad near here.
The person, who was illegally transporting the yellow metal from the Gulf country, was taken into custody, police said.
According to the officials of Hyderabad Airport, the passenger entered into the washroom. He was followed by an employee of Air India to whom the passenger was handing over 12 gold biscuits to be given to a smuggler in Hyderabad. The Revenue Intelligence Officials arrested the passenger with 1.4 kg gold valued at Rs. 44, 60, 640 and started investigations.
