The country’s rage over nepotism and Sushant Singh Rajput death allegedly over the issue has created havoc. Users on the internet have gone ahead to dislike the video which is the first trailer of Sadak 2 of Alia Bhatt, the prime celeb speculated to be part of the “Starkid” pack.
The Sadak 2 trailer has gained over 26 million views on YouTube but the 7.3 million “dislikes” on it speaks volumes of the audience’s reaction to the movie built apparently on the agendas of casting only star kids. It has recorded meager 145 thousand likes, as opposed to the millions of likes earned by any other such star-studded film.
Other than Alia Bhatt, the movie stars Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapoor and is set to release on 28th August on the OTT platform, Disney plus Hotstar, solely for the VIP members. But from the trailer, it seems like the public is inching towards boycotting it, given the 7.3 million dislikes in a matter of 24 hours.
The hate comes as Alia Bhatt, the leading lady of the movie, started her career and is still under the umbrella of Karan Johar, the director who is rumored to be the main person to start nepotism. The actress had also spoken ill about the deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput as the news of Bollywood choosing star kids over pure talent surfaced after his death.
The fact that Mahesh Bhatt directed Sadak 2 also contributed significantly to the hate it is receiving. The man has been a “close friend” of Rhea Chakraborty, the actress who is the center of attention and the prime suspect in Mr. Rajput’s death case. The actor’s father had filed an FIR against the actress after they found that she had illegally taken Rs. 15 crore from the actor, further accusing her of driving him to take the extreme step of suicide.
Sadak 2 is a sequel of the Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt starrer ‘Sadak’ also directed by Mahesh Bhatt. Sanjay Dutt is back in the sequel playing the role of a driver while Alia seems to yearn to take revenge from a priest of black magic with Aditya Roy Kapoor as her boyfriend.
It is also worth noting that the trailer’s ‘dislikes’ have kept reducing over time. It had massive 1.8 million ‘dislikes’ earlier in the day but mysteriously came down to 1.1 million. This was noticed by many users as well who commented on the trailer on YouTube. Many of the users commented saying that they have arrived at the trailer’s video just to dislike it.
