Panipuri vendor caught mixing his urine with khatta water; video viral

Humans have a lot to be thankful for to the internet as incidents that couldn’t be informed earlier or had to be delivered from door-to-door now reaches the world in a second. The internet this time around helped uncover the disgusting act of a street food seller, which if not brought to the limelight, could have caused food poisoning and serious health issues his customers. Street food is considered unhealthy for a reason by health-conscious people, but more so if it is prepared in an absurd and nauseating manner. 

The very well-known paani puri, or otherwise called puchka, golgappa or gacchup, is the most eaten and loved street food. This changed for a lot of people in the recent days after a paani-puri seller was caught mixing his urine with the water used to make the ‘khatta paani’.  

The incident has shocked the internet and it quickly got viral after the video of the dirty act was captured on camera and shared on Twitter.  

It happened in mid-August in Guwahati, Assam and was shared online by a user named Mamun Khan. The video clearly shows the vendor urinating in a mug and then splashing its contents into the vessel containing the khatta paani, which was on his cart.  

The Athgaon area seller was arrested by the local police following the video’s popularity, the user who shared the clip said. “Shocking! A street vendor(pani puri seller) has been arrested in Guwahati after viral a sensational video in which he mixed his urine with water and using the same Water in Pani Puri,” he tweeted.

Uploaded on August 20th, the video has fetched 20.4 views till now. Twitter users are reacting to the video, disgusted and shocked over the incident. Many expressed their worry over their previous panipuri treats while others vowed to never eat street panipuri again.  

Users urged for strict action against the vendor for playing with the health of customers. “Our Teachers Our Gurus have thought us in Primary only not to Eat Roadside foods from hawkers n this kind of people’s must be given a grievous punishment so that others be aware of it,” one user wrote.  

“This has been caught…I fear few other pani puri vendors across India would be doing the same. What about the rest. They would certainly be blamed and would suffer miserably,” tweeted another.
