Parents Apprehensive Of Schools Reopening

Amidst the second wave of the Covid 19 and the apprehensions for a third wave, parents are apprehensive of sending their children to school, according to a recent survey.

Survey Reveals 76 Percent Not Ready to Send Children To School Amidst Pandemic 

As per the latest reports, a total of 76 percent of the parents are not ready to send their children to school until the cases are either zero or the children have been vaccinated. The survey was conducted by Local Circles.

The survey further revealed that the number of parents willing to send their children to school has decreased from 69 percent to 20 percent in the past four months.

At the same time, 65 percent of parents have approved of their children to go to school if the Covid 19 vaccination is available by September this year. The Local Circles further revealed that the government in its daily announcements said that the opening of schools will be tough until a major part of the population has received their vaccination doses.

Experts Suggest Reopening of Schools May Increase Covid 19 Cases 

During the second wave of the Covid 19 saw some children and infants getting infected from the coronavirus. Medial experts are of the opinion that if schools are reopened they might lead to an increase in the number of cases. Especially, when experts have predicted that the third wave of Covid 19 might hit India in less than two months.

There is evidence that shows that more children were affected from the Covid 19 in the second wave than the first. In Maharashtra alone 8,000 kids had tested positive in May, 2021. Recently, Meghalaya also reported 5,000 Covid cases among the age group of 0 to 14 years.

In the first wave of Covid 19, only 4 percent of children were infected from the Coronavirus. However, in the second wave of Covid 19, the share increased to about 10 to 20 percent.
