In Khammam district of Telangana, a 32-year-old man was arrested after allegedly killing his wife and two daughters, portraying their deaths as a road accident, police reported on Sunday. The accused, employed as a physiotherapist at a Hyderabad hospital, was engaged in an extramarital affair with a nurse at the same workplace, according to police sources.
Police revealed that the man committed the murders to sustain his relationship with his colleague, following previous conflicts with his wife on the matter. On May 28, the accused reportedly took his wife and two young daughters in a car to Raghunadhapalem Mandal. There, he administered a fatal injection of high-dose anesthesia to his 26-year-old wife, leading to her death. Subsequently, he allegedly smothered his daughters, aged four and two-and-a-half years, stated a senior police official.
To disguise the murders as a road accident, the accused positioned his wife in the rear seat of the car while seating his daughters in the front, then deliberately crashed the vehicle into a roadside tree, police elaborated. However, following autopsies and technical investigations, law enforcement apprehended the accused, who reportedly confessed to the crimes during interrogation.
