Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed progress of key infrastructure sectors of roads, PMGSY, rural housing, urban housing, railways, airports and ports.
The review meeting was attended by top officials from infrastructure-related Ministries, NITI Aayog, and PMO.
The average road length constructed per day in Financial Year 2017-18 was 26.93 km, as compared to 11.67 km in Financial Year 2013-14. In the railways sector, there has been significant addition in capacity and rolling stock.
Between 2014 and 2018 passenger traffic in aviation sector has grown by over 62 percent while traffic volume in major ports increased by 17 percent.
During the same period over one crore houses have been constructed in rural areas while in urban housing, emphasis is being laid on new construction technologies.
