POCSO court to begin Jubilee Hills gang rape trial soon

As reported by the Jubilee Hills Police, the charge sheet filed by Jubilee Hills police addresses the sensational Jubilee Hills minor girl gang rape case which will commence in a few weeks.

During the last week of July, the police filed 600 pages of charges within 56 days. Due to the fact that five of the accused are minors and one is an adult, the police filed charge sheets before the Juvenile Justice Board as well as the POCSO. A total of 65 witnesses have been interviewed by the police.

Five minor children and a major youth allegedly gang raped a minor girl after a non-alcohol party at a pub on May 28 in an upscale area of Jubilee Hills.  In addition to arresting the youths, the police seized their cars as well.

The investigation into the rape case, including the Test Identification parade, recording of the victim’s statement under CrPc section 164 before the magistrate, performing DNA tests, and forensic examination of the car used in the crime, was completed. On the basis of the charge sheet filed by the POCSO court, cognizance was taken. There is a possibility that all the accused persons will be charged soon.

Earlier this week, the family of a Jubilee Hills gang rape victim knocked on the door of the women’s safety wing after finding videos and photos of the crime on Instagram.

Social media videos and photographs related to the Jubilee Hills gang rape incident were discovered by the family members of the victim. The accused are shown outraging the modesty of the 17-year-old girl in one of the videos, while injuries are seen on the victim’s neck in one of the photographs.
