Police permission must for installing Durga idols

Hyderabad: In connection with Devi Navaratri and Dussehra festival celebrations from October 9 to October 18, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, has informed that Durga Matha Idols have to be installed in public places after intimating police and obtain clearance in writing from the concerned Divisional Assistant Commissioners of Police.

The CP also said separate police clearance was required for each Durga Matha Idol to be installed. Form of Intimation for Durga Matha Idol installation and processions will be available at all the Police Stations in the City from September 30 to October 3. Persons/organizers desirous of installing Durga Matha Idols in public places and also taking out procession for immersion may submit Forms of Intimation at the Police Stations concerned on or before October 7.

No unauthorized electricity connection at pandals will be allowed and the organizers have to apply for supply of electricity to the TSSPDCL and obtain permission in this regard. Use of loudspeakers will be restricted to only two small Box Type Speakers and Police Clearance is required to be taken both by the Organizers, who hire the equipment and the Dealers / Company supplying the equipment. The noise levels should be kept within the permissible limits. A loud speaker or a public address system shall not be used during the nights between 10pm and 6am, as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

Persons installing Idols in the cellars of the complexes and those taking out public procession shall apply for Police Clearance. (NSS)
