Poonam Kaur Alleges Harassment by Trivikram Srinivas, Industry Calls for Formal Complaint

Actress Poonam Kaur has once again accused prominent Telugu film director Trivikram Srinivas of causing damage to her life and health. The actress took to social media on Sunday to voice her grievances, alleging a lack of action on a complaint she claims to have filed with the Movie Artiste Association (MAA).

In her latest post, Poonam wrote, “No questioning or even action taken on director #Trivikramsrinivas for complaint given in MAA association for very long. He rather is encouraged by the big wigs after damaging my life, which has affected my health and happiness (sic).”

Despite these serious allegations, members of the Telugu Film Industry, including MAA officials and the Sexual Harassment Redressal Panel, clarified that they have not received any formal complaint from Poonam Kaur. MAA treasurer Siva Balaji stated, “We didn’t receive any formal or written complaint by her. I even checked earlier records, but there was no complaint from her.”

Thammareddy Bharadwaj, a member of the industry’s Redressal Panel, echoed this sentiment, urging Poonam to provide details through proper channels. “If she explains in detail what the director has done and submits a written complaint, we can investigate. Social media posts alone cannot serve as evidence or prompt action,” he said.

Industry representatives, including Bharadwaj, have confirmed that they reached out to MAA office staff and members, including Srikanth, to verify if any complaint was filed, but no record was found. They emphasized that a formal complaint is necessary to initiate an investigation.

Previously, Poonam had been advised by members of the Telugu Film Industry to approach legal authorities or file a formal grievance with MAA or the Redressal Panel. However, she has continued to raise her concerns primarily through social media.

As of now, the actress has not signed any Telugu or Tamil films, and her allegations remain unaddressed due to the lack of formal documentation. The industry has reiterated its readiness to act if she follows the required procedures.
