Nalgonda: District SP Ranganath has said they have speeded up investigation in the Dalit youth Pranay murder case and would catch the culprit very soon. He also made it clear that they didn’t detain anyone yet in the case.
However, rumors spread that the police detained Amrutha’s father Maruthi Rao and two others. But the SP condemned those rumours. He said they were suspecting that Maruthi Rao was behind Pranay’s murder. He reiterated that they will initiate stringent action against the culprits. The police seized the CCTV footage, he said and assured that they will arrest the culprits very soon.
The police registered a murder case mentioning Maruthi Rao as A-1 and his relative Sravan as A-2 following the complaint lodged by Pranay’s parents.
It may be mentioned here that an unidentified person hacked Pranay to death using a country made knife when Pranay was leaving the Jyothi hospital in Miryalaguda along with his wife Amrutha and his mother. It may also be mentioned here that Pranay and Amrutha got married at Arya Samaj Mandir in Hyderabad six months ago against the wishes of Amrutha’s parents. Since then, Amrutha’s father Maruthi Rao was planning to kill Pranay. (NSS)
