Private Hospitals urge Etala to release Aarogyasri Bills

Hyderabad: As the network, private and corporate hospitals have reportedly stalled healthcare services across the state to patients of Aarogyasri scheme, the government has responded to resolve the issue. These hospitals are seeking immediate release of Rs 1500 crore pending for a few months and the government was ready to release Rs 500 crore in first installment and the rest later.

Health Minister Etela Rajender today held a crucial meeting with the network hospitals and delegates of their managements at Aarogyasri Trust in Jubilee Hills. Rajender asked the hospitals to continue services under the scheme and ensure common man get services. The delegates urged the minister to revise Aarogyasri scheme MoU done in 2007 to meet current needs and include bills in green channel.

They offered proposals to the minister for the same besides releasing the funds immediately to resume services. The network hospitals also appealed to the government to increase payments for conducting surgeries, operations and medicines being offered under the scheme. (NSS)
